1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser to remember something about you between visits or pages. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are optional and help us understand how people use it.
We use first-party cookies (set by trustways.ai) and a small number of third-party cookies (set by services we use). We do not use advertising cookies.
2. The cookies we use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Retention | Origin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tw_session | Strictly necessary | Authenticated session for platform users. | Session | First-party |
| tw_csrf | Strictly necessary | Cross-site request forgery protection. | Session | First-party |
| tw_theme | Functional | Remembers light/dark theme preference. | 1 year | First-party |
| twk_active_framework | Functional | Remembers the framework you most recently switched to. | Session | First-party |
| _ga / _ga_* | Analytics | Anonymous usage analytics (Google Analytics 4). | Up to 2 years | Third-party |
Strictly necessary cookies can't be switched off — the platform won't work without them. Functional cookies are off by default if your browser sends a Do Not Track / GPC signal. Analytics cookies are off by default in the EU, UK, Switzerland, and California until you opt in; on by default elsewhere with a banner letting you opt out.
3. How to manage cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that doing so may break parts of the platform (notably authentication). For granular control over our cookies, use the consent banner on first visit or your account settings once logged in.
4. Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
We honour the Sec-GPC: 1 Global Privacy Control HTTP header on every request. When present we treat the visitor as having opted out of all non-essential cookies and any "sale or share" of personal information under CCPA.
We also respect the legacy DNT: 1 Do Not Track header in the same way.
5. Changes
We update this policy when we add or remove cookies. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
